Check it out…Our very own “Hearts to You” coffee cup cozy.  It’s an easy design that you can do two ways.  Try a two color heart design or just knit and purl the design.  We’ll be serving our “Friendship Heart” Tea on Sunday Febraury 7 so stop in and get started!  Relax before the Super Bowl.

Mittens from Mrs. Roosevelt...
In the recent patterns from Knitty.com is a historical pattern that Eleanor Roosevelt did during her spare time.  It's an interesting article by Franklin Habit as well as a unique mitten.  Check them out, knit them in either Cascade 220 or 220 washable wool

Zandy's welcomes all needlework enthusiast with a wide selection of hand knitting yarns, counted cross stitch, hardanger, fibers, and needlepoint.  Needless to say with such a growing inventory our store has taken many different transformations. We've moved fibers from racks to walls, built wire grid systems for more yarns, devised books racks that are portable, and best of all had fun doing it! We've been in our current location just about twenty years now; and look forward to many more.

Our staff is knowledgeable in all aspects of needlework and if one can't answer your question then the next one can.  We pride ourselves on friendly service and love being creative with fibers, textures, and color.

Meet our staff:

Lynn has been with the store almost from its inception.  She started the day Zandy delivered her son Peter eighteen years ago.  Lynn is truly an expert in all types of needlework and travels the country taking classes and attending seminars.  You'll find her teaching many of our knitting and stitching classes as well as comforting us in our needlework mishaps.  On her off days Lynn enjoys gardening, her lake home, and her brand new puppy!

Pat is the "Needle Woman"!  Her duty over the last ten years is stocking our knitting needles; which as we all know is not the easiest job right now.  However, it hasn't dampened her spirit for knitting.  Pat enjoys knitting as her first love but seconds it with cross stitch and needlepoint.  Purple is her favorite color and yes, we've convinced her that even her most undesirable color yellow is sometimes necessary in her designs.  You'll find Pat enjoying some of her hobbies such as golfing, gardening, reading, volunteering all over the place, and traveling to warmer climates during our cold winters.

Mary is the "jackie of all trades"!  She enjoys all the needleworks and doing some of the daily  necessary paperwork .  Mary started eleven years ago as our "evening girl" and has since retired from her other job and become more our "whenever girl".  Mary has the speed of accomplishment and amazes us with what she can complete in a timely manner.  Besides her needlework Mary enjoys reading, traveling with her husband and spending time with her family.

The rooky of the group is Maureen.  Maureen joined the staff just three years ago after retiring from her banking career.  Her passion is needlepoint but recently has found knitting to be her next favorite thing.  She enjoys knitting for it s portability since she and her husband tend to travel alot.   Maureen's belief  is to take a class when in doubt of a technique.  As she says , "Look what happened to me after just one knitting class, I've become a crazed knitter."   Gardening, reading, beading, cooking are some of Maureen's hobbies.  **This summer we sadly said goodbye to Maureen.  She and her husband have relocated to Texas.  We have missed her dearly but wish her the greatest happiness!
To take her place we've invited Barb to join us in all our fun.  Barb has been knitting for years, loves detail, and is quick!  She has two girls one in high school and one in college.  She's one busy lady with her girls and loves all the activity.  You'll notice she's creative in our store displays and changes them weekly.
